Description
IHI Corporation, established in 1853, is one of Japan’s leading heavy industries involved in resources and energy, infrastructure, industrial systems and aero-engines, space and defence. IHI has an extensive track record in working with the Japanese Government and its allies on defence and military projects, including the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and Global Combat Air Programme. IHI has also developed a small solid rocket named “Epsilon” under the contract with the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
IHI established its first overseas subsidiary, IHI Engineering Australia, (IEA) in 1971. IEA has been providing end-to-end engineering, procurement and construction solutions to Australia-based industries such as gas turbine power generators for mining industries for over 50 years.
