Alice Hudson is a fellow with ASPI’s Cyber, Technology and Security Program. Alice currently leads Altana AI’s Australian operations, where she focuses on helping government departments and businesses better understand and manage supply chain risks through Altana’s AI-powered map of the global supply chain. Alice oversees strategy, business development, stakeholder engagement, and team leadership across the Asia-Pacific region.

Prior to this, Alice spent over a decade working with the Australian Government in a range of legal and policy roles. Her tenure as Senior Adviser for National Security to the former Minister for Home Affairs and Cyber Security positioned her at the centre of several of Australia’s most critical security decisions, where she orchestrated policy development and legislative reform in areas of counter-terrorism, intelligence, foreign interference and national resilience.

Her legal background spans positions within the Attorney-General’s Department, the Department of Home Affairs, and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, specialising in international law, national security legislation, and policy development. Alice holds a Master of Laws from the Australian National University, along with Law and Commerce degrees from the University of Sydney.

Throughout her career, Alice has demonstrated exceptional leadership in high-stakes environments, from coordinating urgent national security legislation through Parliament, to managing complex litigation matters and providing strategic advice at the highest levels of government. Her proven ability to navigate complex stakeholder relationships, coupled with her solution-oriented approach and composure under pressure, has established her as a trusted advisor in Australia’s national security landscape.
