Andrew Charlton MP, Federal Member for Parramatta, is an economist, business owner, and former senior economic advisor. Prior to entering Parliament, Andrew completed a PhD in economics at Oxford University and went on to work at the London School of Economics. He worked as an advisor to former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd during the global financial crisis. Andrew was previously appointed Special Envoy for Cyber Security and Digital Resilience and Australia’s senior official to the G20 Leaders’ Summits.
In his current roles as Cabinet Secretary and Assistant Minister for Science, Technology and the Digital Economy, Andrew is at the forefront of work to ensure new technologies have a positive impact across Australia’s economy, and that these benefits are equitably shared. He is dedicated to ensuring that Australia remains a leader in digital innovation.
As the Federal Member for Parramatta, Andrew is deeply committed to advocating for his diverse community, focusing on economic development, social equity, and sustainability. His leadership is characterized by a forward-looking approach, integrating economic, digital, and community priorities to build a stronger future for all Australians.
